Magic Sam inspired slow blues of Stay With Me. Money Talks reveals Laurieās humorous side and features the rollicking piano work of Barry Goldberg. The Extra Mile is a rocker fueled by Laurieās explosive wah wah guitar solo, followed by the title track Gravity, which showcases both her expansive, spatial guitar work and Jim Pughās textural, beautiful keyboard playing.
Overcoming hardship with positivity radiates from the driving groove of Dance in the Rain and back-porch-pulsing blues of Gotta Dig Deep. The Man Who Left Me is a haunt
theme of Shake Your Tailfeathers is standing tall to rise above, and Laurieās guitar solo pays loving, respectul homage to the late great B.B. King. I Want Answers is a gritty, plaintive call to demanding action. The combination of hypnotic groove and swampy slide guitar work in Too Dumb to Quit provides the canvas for Laurieās tongue-in-cheek questioning of why we keep doing things we know are bad for us.
