Weeken Video - 2 meter Sessie
In 1999 ging 2 Meter Sessies naar Californië, naar Venice Beach om precies te zijn. Het is de plek waar de band Venice zich naar vernoemde. In Amerika filmden we een nieuwe sessie met de broers Michael en Mark Lennon en hun neefjes Kipp en Pat. Ook in de studio: Jackson Browne en David Crosby. Allebei grote liefhebbers van de Venice harmonieën. Met David Crosby zong de band het nog altijd prachtige ‘Guinevere‘, afkomstig van het in 1969 verschenen debuutalbum van Crosby, Stills & Nash.

Nieuwe namen Bluesfestival 2019
We kunnen drie nieuwe namen bekendmaken. Komende zomer komen ook Gary Clark Jr, St. Paul and the Broken Bones en Curtis Salgado naar Grolloo. Al eerder werden ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Danielle Nicole, Jonny Lang en Delgres bevestigd. PROGRAMMA 2019

JP Williams begon met het uitvoeren van akoestische Folk & Blues muziek in koffiehuizen en lokale nachtclubs in Wilkes-Barre, Pa..... Daarna verhuisde hij naar NYC, waar hij een aantal jaren optrad in vele beroemde nachtclubs in de stad met andere ambitieuze singer/songwriters en muzikanten. Hij bleef liedjes schrijven en optreden na zijn verhuizing naar Pennsylvania, als solo-act en met vele succesvolle lokale bands. Na vele jaren is hij gestopt met optredens om zich te concentreren op zijn bedrijf en familie. Begin 2014 besloot hij dat het tijd was om de muziek waar hij zo van hield opnieuw te vervolgen.

In Memoriam: Eddie C. Campbell, West Side blues guitarist, dies at 79
Eddie C. Campbell may not have had major name recognition among the general public, but in Chicago’s blues circles, he was a towering guitarist, blues vocalist and songwriter whose career spanned decades. Campbell’s career got underway in the ’50s and ’60s, but unlike many of his peers who also had roots in the rural South, he continued to play clubs and record new stuff in the 1990s and 2000s, too, not content to simply continue playing the standards. “He epitomized the West Side sound, which included R&B and soul,” Chicago music historian James Porter said. “He had an excellent voice, an excellent blues voice, but he was more distinguished as a guitarist and a songwriter.” Campbell died Tuesday of heart failure at home in Oak Park, his wife and manager, Barbara Mayson, announced on Facebook.
