Als in maart en april van 2020 duidelijk wordt dat de band-agenda’s voor onbepaalde tijd leeg worden geveegd en er muzikaal niets in het verschiet ligt, begint Paul Diersen met het schrijven en vastleggen van nieuwe liedjes, riffs en flarden muziek. Want de muziek moet door. Tijdens de zomer wordt de rode draad duidelijk – denk: Beatles, White Denim, Byrds, Supergrass, J.J. Cale – en appt hij Mike Visser en Stef Woestenenk. ‘Gitaarliedjes met veel samenzang, doen jullie mee?’ Het plan: opnemen. Klooien met een paar microfoons en een laptop. En verder zien ze het wel, want er valt toch niets te voorspellen en te plannen.
