Watch out! Because something wicked is coming on 14th October 2026 in the shape of the new album ‘Boneyard Rituals’

11 tracks from our gloriously off-kilter, roots-soaked world of voodoo blues, gothabilly, horror calypso and old-timey death skiffle!

At the heart of the project are multi-instrumentalists and songwriters Jo Carley and Tim Carley, who have spent years twisting, reshaping and breathing new life into the darker corners of roots, blues and folk music.

Adding a striking new colour to the ‘Old Dry Skulls’ sonic palette is Stephane Spitz on baritone saxophone, whose deep, growling tones weave around the rhythms and melodies, adding weight and a new dimension to the ‘Old Dry Skulls’ sound. His playing brings a distinctly New Orleans-meets-Caribbean flavour to the album — putting something dark and danceable into the mix.

“I wanted to make this album have that same warped feeling you might get when a travelling sideshow comes to town,” says Jo Carley. “Everything seems fun and colourful from the outside, but there’s a macabre side that draws you into their reality and messes with your brain. But you love the experience nonetheless.”

That sense of seduction and unease runs through Boneyard Rituals. It’s music that invites you closer with its rhythm and colour, before revealing something stranger lurking underneath.

This is roots music dragged somewhere darker — earthy, cinematic, eccentric and gloriously unpredictable
