Canadian singer-songwriter Scott Cook will release his new album, Troubadourly Yours, on September 25 via Groove Revival. It is his eighth studio album and the long-awaited follow-up to Tangle of Souls, released in 2020.

For nearly two decades, Cook has travelled the world as a modern troubadour, building a reputation for his thoughtful blend of folk and Americana. On Troubadourly Yours, he presents ten new songs that once again combine personal storytelling with observations on the world around him. The material was largely written during an ambitious songwriting project in which Cook challenged himself to write a new song every month.

The album was recorded with producer Miles Wilkinson and features contributions from a number of guest musicians from Canada, Australia and the United States. Previously released singles There Is a River and Frankie’s Braids offer an early glimpse of the album, with both songs also earning recognition at the Great American Song Contest.

With Troubadourly Yours, Scott Cook looks set to add another compelling chapter to an already impressive catalogue. The album will be available from September 25 on CD, vinyl and all major streaming platforms.

Bio

In 2007, Albertan songwriter Scott Cook quit his job teaching kindergarten in Taiwan and moved into a minivan. He’s made his living as a troubadour ever since, touring almost incessantly across Canada, the US, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere, averaging a hundred shows and a dozen summer festivals a year, and releasing eight albums of plainspoken, keenly observant verse along the way. His seventh album Tangle of Souls spent two weeks at #1 back home on Alberta's province-wide community radio network CKUA, and earned Scott his third Canadian Folk Music Award nomination, for English Songwriter of the Year. Its second single ‘Say Can You See’ was the second most-played song of 2020 on Folk Alliance International's folk radio charts, and took first place for the folk category in both the 2020 UK Songwriting Competition and the 2020 Great American Song Contest. Like much of Cook's work, the song bridges current political and social divides by sharing the stories of ordinary people. His follow-up Troubadourly Yours is due for release in September of 2026 on CD and vinyl, followed by a 302-page hardcover book and audiobook of extended liner notes, road stories and ruminations.  Its first single ‘There Is a River’ has already won the grand prize in the 2025 Great American Song Contest, with its second single ‘Frankie’s Braids’ taking first prize in the Special Music category of the same competition. Amid all the bitterness and division in the world, Cook’s work is an ongoing invitation to circle up around the fire. Fresh from the open road, these are sturdy, straight-talking songs that see the good in you.
