The Mike Jacoby Electric Trio returns July 31st with Welcome To The Family, an 11-song collection of sharp Americana rock that blends country, folk, and the melodic grit of ’90s indie rock into something both timeless and current.

Recorded in Long Beach and produced by Jacoby himself, the album tackles love, loss, humor, and the fractures shaping modern American life with songwriting that feels lived-in rather than performative. Backed by longtime collaborators Don Read and Mike Levin, the trio delivers dynamic, instinctive performances that keep the songs grounded even as the record shifts between heartland rock energy, textured alt-country, and more experimental moments.

Following the critically praised Rocket Fuel Logic, Jacoby pushes further here, tightening both the songwriting and production while leaning harder into emotional contrast. Tracks like “Welcome To The Family” and “Red, White & Blues” confront empathy and division head-on, while songs like “85%” and “Fine American Craftsmanship” inject wit and irreverence into the mix. Mastered by Grammy Award-winning engineer Gavin Lurssen, Welcome To The Family feels honest without trying too hard to prove it — a record built on strong hooks, human observation, and the chemistry of a band that knows exactly how to serve the song.

The Lead Single/Title Track from the album: "Welcome To The Family": A song that examines what life might be like for an immigrant to this country. And a call for compassion and understanding. I hear this song’s arrangement as something The Who might have done – in the vein of “Going Mobile”.
