Monster Axe Slinger Brad “Guitar” Wilson Is Boundless On New Cali Bee Music Album Set for Release July 31
Acclaimed guitarist Brad “Guitar” Wilson has announced a July 31 release date for his new album, Boundless on Cali Bee Music. Boundless is the follow-up to Brad’s 2025 release, The Californian, a top charting album on the Roots Music Report, spending 12 weeks at #1 on their Blues Rock Album chart and multiple appearances on their blues rock songs list. The Californian also charted heavily on the UK’s IBBA (Independent Blues Broadcasters Association) chart and is featured on SiriusXM’s B.B. King’s Bluesville channel for his song, "Lightning In a Bottle."
Boundless was produced once again by Grammy-winner Francis Buckley and recorded at legendary High Fidelity ICP Studios in Brussels, Belgium, as well as at the Musicians Institute Studios in Hollywood, California. Boundless is filled with songs that allow Wilson to work beyond his stellar blues guitar playing and represents his ability to expand his songwriting and performances to greater heights. No limits…Boundless. Brad Wilson is slated to tour the USA and Europe throughout the rest of 2026 into 2027.
Four tracks from Boundless are going to digital retail outlets through CD Baby, with B.B. King’s classic, “The Thrill Is Gone,” already on sale at all digital outlets.
“’The Thrill Is Gone’ was recorded in Brussels, Belgium, at the famous ICP Studios,” Brad Wilson says.” “They have an amazing collection of vintage equipment, and the studio had purchased one of B.B. King's ‘Lucille’ guitars. The sound of the guitar rings so true on this classic B.B. King song. It made recording this so exciting to hear the playback for the first time.”
The other initial digital tracks going out in advance include two Brad Wilson originals - “Living Underground” and “Sky Full of Rain”- and a bluesy take on the Tears for Fears’ hit, “Everybody Wants To Rule the World.”
About his two originals in this first batch release, Wilson commented: “On ‘Living Underground,’ like everyone, I was reading about the terrible war in Ukraine, so I wrote ‘Living Underground’ imagining the experience of your home and everything you love gone. Under these conditions, you begin to live underground for safety. A furry friend turns up and makes his life better. ‘Sky Full of Rain’ is a blues showcase for guitar that producer Francis Buckley recorded and mixed so well. A story of desperation, no job and no longer having the skills to find work.”
For his re-imagining of the Tears for Fears ‘80s smash hit, “Everybody Wants To Rule the World,” Wilson adds, “I had always loved this song, and both the music and lyrics I find inspiring. Recorded at ICP studios with the band I tour with in Europe. The musicians played the song with the intensity of an original, and we also perform this song live in concert. It fits my style and blends in with the show and allows me to play lots of hot lead guitar!”
“All the musicians are stellar, very talented players and during the recording of Boundless they came in and really brought the songs to life. The focus for the new album is on my new original songs along with playing rockin' blues guitar and vocals. There are some monster covers on this record. I know everybody likes to put things in a box for formats and it makes sense for radio, but this is a record that’s right down the center with the feel of an accomplished guitar player performing songs that fit my rockin’ Americana style. However, as I say, the focus is really about my new originals that have an upbeat dance beat, heavy on guitar songs.”
BOUNDLESS - CUT BY CUT:
THE THRILL IS GONE
Recorded in Brussels Belgium at the famous ICP Studios. They have an amazing collection of vintage equipment and the studio had purchased one of BB King's "Lucille" guitars. The sound of the guitar rings so true on this classic BB King song. It made recording “The Thrill Is Gone” so exciting to hear the playback for the first time.
MORE OF YOU
A favorite on the album. A love song that I enjoy singing the lyrics: "top to bottom, round and round, you always astound" Everybody knows what it’s like to be in love with someone. This song captures the excitement of being crazy in love.
HIT THE ROAD JACK
We played this fabulous song at the shows, before we recorded the new album and everyone in the audience loves to sing the chorus. We get started on the song and by the end of the first guitar solo, everybody wants to join in. We take the band down to just drums and bass and you can hear the audience from outside the venue. Everyone has so much fun singing this song with me!
GONNA STAY OR GO
A guitar-drivin' rock-riff song that is uptempo and exciting! A tale of a moment in a relationship where an important decision is made. Two people in love can have these times and hopefully a chance to talk it over.
LIVING UNDERGROUND
Like everyone, I was reading about the terrible war in Ukraine, so I wrote this song imagining the experience of your home and everything you love gone. Under these conditions you begin to live underground for safety. A furry friend turns up and makes his life better.
EVERYBODY WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD
I had always loved this song, and both the music and lyrics I find inspiring. It was recorded at ICP Studios with the band I tour with in Europe. The musicians played it with the intensity of an original song and we’ve perform it in concert. It fits my style and blends in with the show and allows me to play lots of hot lead guitar!
LET'S DANCE TONIGHT
Having performed shows in bars for years, this is a song that captures a night out anywhere in the music world. You are out for a fun night, the band is sounding great, you meet someone really cool and you want to dance. A timeless experience that just feels wonderful. I recorded this song in Brussels. Belgium at the famous ICP Studios. The band really rocked it up, including piano player Luca with barrelhouse chops!
WILD AND FREE
Central California is my home and although the cities are good sized, it is still very agricultural. We can see snow covered mountains and national parks above the valley floor, Yosemite, the Sequoia Forest and lots of fields and orchards. It’s a very important place for growing America's food and not always the best weather - it can get quite warm. The people here are very independent and have a good feeling about life. I sing in this song that they’re Wild And Free.
HOME
Growing up, my family lived in a rural area out west. I have so many memories of that time - the people, the land, our life. It made for a beautiful song that touches my heart.
Out here you take the good with the bad
Rain or shine
I could be most anywhere
This where I’ll spend my time
Piece of my heart
Buried in this ground
This is home
Friends and family on a day in July
This is time well spent
I could be most anywhere
This where I spend my time
Bless these hills I love
Breathe deep this land I know
This is home
Castles built down dusty roads
Fates tied to the water well
This is home
Widow Whaley lost a farm to fire
Folks showed up and put it out
Everybody’s talking about it
This is home
Harry’s son in the service overseas
We all hope young Harry comes home soon
This is home
This is home
TIME WAS
I enjoy the relaxed feeling this recording brings. A simple song that has really nice acoustic guitar in the background and wonderful lead guitar work. Guitars were recorded at ICP Studios and lyrics were written from my many visits to the California Central Coast town of Carmel. The message is one of experience and making the time in a busy life to just take a walk and remember an earlier time in your life when you didn't have as much going on.
SAN FRANCISCO NIGHTS
I always enjoy writing about romance. For this song I returned to a city I have lived in and love to visit. Like many people that know San Francisco, there are landmarks that are iconic. This song takes you around the city. With the band joined by two backup singers, we have a night in San Francisco. The groove is great and the Golden Gate Bridge can be seen in the music.
Sundown And The Cowboy
I have a picture of my father from a rodeo.
It's on my website. He was a real cowboy.
He worked with horses all his life.
He married my mom when she was young.
They had four kids. This song is about them.
"She's a dark-haired beauty
with a look against a western sunset,
someone the Cowboy couldn't match.
She made him forget
just how tough his life was.
She made him forget
about his horse and his saddle.
On a Half-Moon Bay in the Alabama Hills,
Sundown and the Cowboy ride."
SKY FULL OF RAIN
A blues showcase for guitar that producer Francis Buckley recorded and mixed so well. A story of desperation of no job and no longer having the skills to find work.
BETWEEN THE HOURS
The heaviest song on my new album. I was concerned the subject of someone close to the end of their life, dealing with days of pain, was not ready for a general audience. As I thought about people that are living between the hours of pain in a hospital, I went with the lyrics and song in support of those people, and maybe me someday. The band played the track with lots of emotion, and keyboard player Chris Rhyne added an incredible performance.
BLUES MAGIC
I wrote this song in Southern California touring with a long time friend on drums, Adam Gust. The groove that Adam played on drums was so cool, I looked forward to recording with him. He mentioned that his friend Francis Buckley would be perfect to produce the session and album, and it was the beginning of a long friendship and many albums working with Francis.
CRY ME A RIVER
Performing in the famous nightclub The Music Village in Brussels on a rainy night to a full house, I sat down with a glass of wine and thought of how wonderful it would be to sing this song. Returning to California, talking with album producer Francis Buckley, we decided to add a guitar solo for the outro to not only showcase the wonderful melody for singing, but to also allow some soaring guitar over this incredible song.
About Brad “Guitar” Wilson

Influenced by guitar players Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Gary Moore, B.B. King, Chuck Berry and Stevie Ray Vaughan, Brad “Guitar” Wilson has developed a style that effortlessly combines shredding solos with soulful riffs that connect with audiences and guide them on a musical journey of the highs and lows that come with singing the blues. His last album, The Californian, also produced by Francis Buckley, explored the feelings of returning home after touring, traveling the back roads of the Dutch and French countrysides, spending time playing music in Monterey, California, and included “Teaser,” the hit song from John Carpenter’s Vampires. Brad’s live shows are known for getting the audience up dancing and singing along. He’s toured with the legendary band Chicago as their support act, as well as Tommy Castro. Coco Montoya, Walter Trout, The Marshall Tucker Band and Cheap Trick. He has toured Europe 12 times over the last 6 years. His songs have been featured on TV shows aired on CBS and NBC.
Radio promotion on Boundless for the USA is by The Syndicate. Wilson recently completed a May tour of Belgium and The Netherlands with an October Tour of Belgium and The Netherlands ahead.
