To his British friends he’s known as Oli, to his American friends he’s known as Mac. After years paying his dues as ‘Mississippi’ MacDonald and with four UK blues awards to that name, it’s time for the real man to come to the front of the stage. His star to shine. And this the singer/songwriter/guitarist from London does at the time of a maturing style which has been fully immersed in the melodies, rhythms, and feel of the Memphis sound. From a series of recording sessions, produced by Grammy award winner Boo Mitchell, comes this first single of Oli Mac’s own songs honed by the connection he made with the legendary Hi Rhythm section. A connection that has reached so deep Oli Mac is now a Take Me To The River All Star, performing as part of the Hi Rhythm Section at the New Orleans Jazz Festival and at the Barbican backing Carla Thomas on the Memphis Soul Revue show.
