Texas-based singer-songwriter Clay DuBose returns with Father Time & Mother Nature, a powerful new album that blends rock, blues, and country into the distinctive Americana sound he has cultivated throughout his career. Recorded in Los Angeles and produced by acclaimed artist and producer Ted Russell Kamp, the album reflects on love, loss, family, and the passage of time.
DuBose first made his mark performing on the Sunset Strip in the late 1980s with a blues-rock band that landed a major label development deal. In the early 1990s he began collaborating with Southern California guitar virtuoso Will Ray, merging rock energy with country virtuosity. Their EP Life of the Party arrived just as the Americana radio format was emerging in 1995, placing DuBose among the early artists helping shape the genre.
His subsequent albums Rewriting History (#23 on the Americana chart in 2003) and These Days (#6 in 2005) established him as a respected voice in Americana, with collaborations including Garth Hudson of The Band.
After stepping away from recording for several years to focus on family and other pursuits, DuBose returned to songwriting with renewed inspiration. Personal experiences—including the passing of his father, the birth of his daughter, and the loss of several musical heroes—deeply influenced the themes of Father Time & Mother Nature.
The album features an exceptional lineup of musicians including Brian Whelan, Doug Pettibone, Neal Casal, Dean Parks, Will Ray, John Schreffler, Danny Timms, Carl Byron, Sasha Smith, Eric Corne, and guest vocalist Janiva Magness.

- “Winning Streak” – a Vegas-inspired metaphor for gambling on love
