Birmingham UK power trio The Davidson Trio are set to release their second studio recording, which will be a new 5 track EP called 'Follow You', following on from their debut album Cougar.

This new instalment is edgier, darker and more orientated towards rock than most of the previous offerings. The  band  wanted to go back to a sound and feel that they would have been previously renowned for.

"It just feels natural; this kind of music just flows out of us when we get together in the studio," says guitarist and songwriter Ben Bicknell.

The band are releasing three singles from the new EP before its official release to online stores and streaming platforms on 1st May 2026. The first single to be released on 14th March is War.

A dark pulsating track with eery guitar crying throughout the track. Massive bass rumbles on like the sound of battle, steadily marching on.

"It reflects the everyday battles we all face, the feeling of wanting to defend what we love the most whatever that may be...... music, loved ones, our culture or even our possessions," Explains Singer and Bass player Owen Davidson.

"We were even fighting our own battles during the writing and recording of the EP. Floods, health, budgets and strict time scales but I think these battles have been won" says drummer Ellis Brown.

The remaining tracks all carry deep messages that we can all relate to in some aspect of our lives, shady characters that are out to get you, being disillusioned with the circus we live in or missing loved ones that are no longer in our lives.

More info:

1 - Mr Greasy Snake (Music and Lyrics – Ben Bicknell) A fast-paced guitar driven track with heavy riffs, really gets your head nodding and your foot tapping. This song is written about all those shady people you meet along your journey. They offer success and help but all along they just want to use you and watch you fail. I’m sure you have all met one of these, especially in the music industry!

2 – War ISRC - QZMEN2630265 (Music – Ben Bicknell, Ellis Brown / Lyrics – Owen Davidson) Slow burning track that symbolises the struggles we all face throughout our lives. The feeling of wanting to protect what is yours, the things you love and care about. Slow pulsating guitars back eery lead guitar crying in the distance. Has an almost Robin Trower, psychedelic vibe.

3- Disillusion (Music – Ben Bicknell, Ellis Brown / Lyrics - Ben Bicknell) Starts off with drumming masterclass from Ellis Brown, his tight groove accompanied by Bicknell’s Hendrexian guitar riff.

Ben said he wrote this track after being totally Disillusioned by the music industry. It takes a view from the outside looking in, seeing it for the circus it really is while people are almost hypnotised into consuming what they are told is good.
Also features a cheeky nod to RATM right at the very end.

4- Song For Phil (Music – Ben Bicknell, Owen Davidson / Lyrics – Owen Davidson) No prizes for guessing who inspired this one. Dual guitars hit the airwaves with solid driving backing, you would be forgiven for thinking this was an unreleased Lizzy track.

A carefully orchestrated solo by Bicknell competes this track into a true rock anthem. The song was heavily influenced by Phil Lynotts life story and his beliefs.

5 – Follow You (Music and Lyrics – Ben Bicknell) The bands first ballad, originally written for the first album but was never used. Searing lead guitar starts the track almost reminiscent of the late great Gary Moore. This song is about the people we miss in our lives, maybe they have passed on or have left your life, and you don’t know how you will carry on, you are feeling lost and cold, stranded.
