“Overqualified” is een speelse kijk op de hoogtes en laagtes van het muzikantenbestaan, de mythe rond de levensstijl van een rockster en het bevrijdende besef van wat er echt toe doet: spelen! Het swingende ritme van de track biedt het perfecte platform voor PD om zijn rock ’n roll gitaarroots te laten horen, en in combinatie met de boogiepiano ontbrandt het nummer tot een aanstekelijke, dansvloer-vullende knaller. 

Over de band

Dit zinderende viertal, aangevoerd door gitaarmagiër PD Martin (aka Piet Vercauteren), neemt je mee op een zwoele trip door een moeras van blues en funk. Sterke en veelzijdige composities, messcherpe ritmes en avontuurlijke improvisaties zijn de tools waarmee ze een diepe connectie maken met hun publiek. Van swingende shuffles en soulvolle slow blues tot groovende funk-anthems — alles gebracht op hun eigen, authentieke manier. 

Hun eerste album – Soulbeat Incarnate – verscheen in februari 2023 en in 2024 won PD Martin de Belgian Blues Challenge. In 2025 nam de band deel aan de European Blues Challenge in Kroatië, wat PD naar Memphis, Tennessee bracht in januari 2026 als one-manband (aka Peddlin’ Pete).

"Overqualified” is vanaf 13 februari 2026 te beluisteren op alle grote streamingplatforms en beschikbaar als digitale download. De fanbase van de band kan zich verheugen op een nieuw album later dit jaar.

Overqualified is a playful take on the highs and lows of being a musician, the myth of the rockstar lifestyle, and the liberating realization that what truly matters is simply getting out there to play.

Driven by a swinging rhythm, the track creates the perfect platform for PD to showcase his rock ’n roll guitar roots. Combined with a boogie piano, the song ignites into a jumping dance floor filler.

Availability

Overqualified will be available on all major streaming platforms and as a digital download from February 13, 2026. The band’s fanbase can also look forward to a new album to be released later this year.

This rip-roaring four-piece band fronted by guitar wizard PD Martin (aka Piet Vercauteren) takes you on a sultry trip through a wetland of blues and funk. Strong and versatile compositions, ultra-tight rhythms, and adventurous improvisations are their tools to forge a deep connection with their audience.

From swingin’ shuffles and soulful slow blues to great groovin’ funk anthems — all delivered in their own authentic way. The lyrics and compositions are of the hand of PD Martin.

PD Martin won the Belgian Blues Challenge in 2024. In 2025, the band participated in the European Blues Challenge in Croatia, which took PD as a one man band (aka Peddlin' Pete) to Memphis, Tennessee in January 2026.
