hree-time Grammy-nominated blues icon Eric Bibb releases today (January 16th) the third single, “Didn’t I Keep Runnin’,” from his upcoming One Mississippi album arriving worldwide on January 30th, 2026 by Repute Records. One Mississippi is not only Bibb’s most ambitious and musically expansive work yet, but also a bold new era for Repute Records as a fully independent, artist-driven label with total creative and commercial worldwide control.
”This song was inspired by an old photograph, depicting a peg-footed banjo player, who was surely a slave who had tried to escape. Runaway slaves who were captured after unsuccessful attempts to flee, were often punished with the amputation of a foot to prevent further flight and to discourage other slaves from trying. As I see it, we’re all still on the road to freedom," says Eric Bibb about the new single.
“Didn’t I Keep Runnin’” is the latest taste of Eric Bibb’s forthcoming album, One Mississippi (out 30 January 2026 via Repute Records), ahead of a worldwide tour in the Spring.
