Ruf Records proudly announces the debut solo album from acclaimed American blues, soul, and R&B guitarist Laura Chavez. Arriving January 2026, My Voice is fully instrumental—because for Chavez, the guitar is her voice.

Winner of the 2023 Blues Music Award for Instrumentalist – Guitar — the first and only woman to ever receive the honor — Chavez presents a collection of originals and reimagined classics that reflect her Texas and Chicago blues roots, California upbringing, and Mexican heritage. From the driving “Born On The Bayou” to the haunting “La Llorona,” each track showcases her fiery technique, emotional depth, and unmistakable tone.
