This Halloween, the swamp comes alive once more as The Curse of K.K. Hammond channels the ghostly essence of Delta blues in her chilling new release, “Ain’t No Grave.” The single features fellow dark Americana artists David & the Devil and Kaspar “Berry” Rapkin, together crafting a spellbinding rendition of the traditional gospel-blues standard that blurs the line between the living and the dead.

Produced by David & the Devil and K.K. Hammond, and mixed and mastered by Kaspar “Berry” Rapkin, this version of the Brother Claude Ely(Video) classic is steeped in atmosphere — a fusion of swamp-born slide guitars, haunting harmonies, and brooding percussion. What emerges is a soundscape that feels both ancient and cinematic, drenched in the grit and mysticism of Southern gothic storytelling.

“Ain’t No Grave” marks the trio’s first full collaboration, following a string of individual successes. Hammond’s duet with David & the Devil, “Death Roll Blues,” reached the top of the iTunes Blues charts in both the UK and the U.S., landing at #7 on the Billboard Blues Chart. Their follow-up, “The Ballad of Lampshade Ed,” has now surpassed 700,000 Spotify streams.
