Repute Records will release three digital single focus tracks in advance of the new album, each with an accompanying video: October 10th – “This One Don’t;” December 5th – “If You’re Free;” and January 30th – “One Mississippi.”
One Mississippi was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Glen Scott, who also served as multi-instrumentalist, engineer, and A&R on the project. The album was recorded and mixed at Scott’s own private high-end studio facility in Uppsala, Sweden, resulting in a seamless blend of superior-quality sonic craftsmanship and heartfelt performances. Throughout the album, the reverence for Bibb’s masterful acoustic guitar playing and his warm, soulful baritone voice is unmistakable—both are placed center stage, allowing Bibb’s artistry and presence to shine through every note and groove. Scott’s visionary production and versatile musicianship form the backbone of the album’s contemporary-yet- timeless sound.

The album also features legendary UK-based guitar virtuoso Robbie McIntosh (Paul Mc Cartney, The Pretenders, John Mayer), whose expressive playing and skill graces most of the album, adding depth, grit, and melodic commentary to Eric Bibb’s signature storytelling.
One Mississippi is a showcase of Bibb’s exceptional songwriting and collaborative spirit, with credits including Greger Andersson and former Manfred Mann frontman Paul Jones (harmonica), Shaneeka Simon and Sara Bergkvist Scott (backing vocals), Zosha Warpeha and Esbjörn Hazelius (fiddle), Staffan Astner (guitar), Sven Lindvall (tuba) and the legendary Janis Ian and Fred Koller, writers of the title track. Among the many highlights is “One Mississippi,” which Bibb delivers with a heartfelt truth & clarity.
One Mississippi follows an extraordinary period of prolific output and critical recognition for Eric Bibb. His 2023 album, Ridin’, earned a 2024 Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album and was celebrated by critics as “a bluesy, folky delight... packed with melodic jams and steeped in oak casks for decades.” Prior to that, Bibb released Dear America (2021), which was nominated for Blues Music Awards and recognized as “Album of the Year” by several leading roots publications.
His most recent album, In the Real World (2024), recorded at Peter Gabriel’s iconic Real World Studios and produced by Glen Scott, has been universally acclaimed. Rock and Blues Muse described it as “a deeply moving collection of blues and roots tracks soaked in wisdom,” while Glide Magazine called it “perhaps the most pristine production of any of his studio work.” Americana Highways praised Bibb’s “modern-day freshness” and “endless ingredients,” and Americana UK wrote: “a legendary figure of the blues, not content to rest on his reputation, but still exploring and growing.” As Bibb himself reflects, the album is “a vivid representation of my musical and personal evolution.”
