Multi-GRAMMY-nominated vocalist Shemekia Copeland won a total of four awards. Living Blues critics and readers honored her with the coveted Blues Artist Of The Year award. She also won Album Of The Year for Blame It On Eve and Most Outstanding Blues Singer (Female). Album producer, musician Will Kimbrough, won the Critics' Award for Producer Of The Year.
Blues guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Ronnie Baker Brooks won the Critics' Award for Blues Artist Of The Year (Male) as well as Best New Recording/Contemporary for his Alligator Records debut, Blues In My DNA.
Rick Estrin & The Nightcats won the Critics' Award for Band Of The Year, while the magazine's readers chose Southern Avenue as Band Of The Year.
Texas pianist/vocalist Marcia Ball won the Readers' Award for Most Outstanding Musician (Keyboards). Kenny "Beedy Eyes" Smith of The Cash Box Kings won the same award for drums.
