“I’ve been with my guy for just over 25 years now and, one night a while back, we were sitting around talking about the early days of our relationship,” says Ollee Owens about the song and video’s genesis. “It was fun reminiscing about the excitement and nerves of our first date - and all the silly things we did to impress each other back then. This conversation led us to start jotting down some lyrics for a song that might capture these moments currently trapped in time. We then started jamming it out – adding a sultry and catchy melody which eventually became ‘Shivers and Butterflies.’
“After all these years – and the wild ride it’s been – these same feelings still flit and flutter to the surface from time to time…and this song holds relevance today in middle age as it did when we were young.
“This video was filmed on location in and around Victoria, BC, Canada – our goal was to capture a lighthearted, fun day out together by the ocean. I hope it brings a smile to your face as you watch – it sure does to mine!”
