The Recording Academy has announced the 2025 GRAMMY® Award nominees, with Sue Foley receiving a nomination for “Best Traditional Blues Album” for her acclaimed solo acoustic album ONE GUITAR WOMAN, on Stony Plain Records. For this album Sue set aside “Pinky”, her trademark Telecaster, and with her expressive voice and a single nylon-stringed Flamenco guitar, created twelve tracks that pay homage to the female pioneers of guitar who have been her guiding lights and lit the way for her musical journey. The album honors icons including Elizabeth Cotten, Memphis Minnie, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, French classical guitarist Ida Presti, Southern blues women Geeshie Wiley and Elvie Thomas, Tejano sensation Lydia Mendoza, Charo, and country music matriarch Maybelle Carter.
