LAZARUS HEIGHTS ANNOUNCE NEW ‘PAPILLON ‘ALBUM
Anglo-French melodic rock band Lazarus Heights release their second album called ‘Papillon’ on 20th September 2024 | The band features singer songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Dick Grisdale, drummer Jeff Gautier, Paul Mouradian on keyboards and bv’s and bassist Simon Pearson.
‘Papillon’ is a deeply wrought album full of Grisdale's charismatic presence, deep emotion and songcraft. He brings his colourful narratives to life with baritone tinged phrasing which evokes icons such as Jim Morrison, Nick Cave and Scoot Walker.

And while ‘Papillon' is very much a song driven album it enjoys a visceral sonic quality with atmospheric drones, atmospheric walls of sound and a variety of guitar tones that sometimes recall Mark Knofler and David Gilmour.

It's a big sounding rock album with 10 hugely original songs and 2 covers, including Jacques Brel’s ‘Next’, given an Alex Harvey treatment.
The whole album flows into the closing self titled anthem ‘Lazarus Heights’, which is an essential statement of what the band is all about.
Originally formed in 2007 by Dick Grisdale, Lazarus Heights steadily built their profile in the Dordogne area of South West France, before seasoned rock drummer Jeff Gautier joined the band in 2020.
Boosted by Gautier’s experience (Calvin Russell, Jean Jacques Goldman and Paul Personne) the band quickly went into the studio to cut the well received 7 track Maxi EP called ‘Strangers’.

‘Strangers’ benefited from solid radio support in both France & the UK, and even reached #3 on the GRTR Weekly album chart, before the band undertook a debut Northern French tour.
