Introducing L.A.B” –> vinyl sampler + Paradiso-show (uitverkocht!)! De Nieuw-Zeelandse reggae formatie L.A.B is aldaar de ‘grootste en bekendste’ band van het land, zowel qua singles en albums als fysieke en digitale verkopen.

 Ze domineren er de charts, playlists en award-shows (Best Group, Best Song, Best Album & Best Live Act) al enkele jaren, en ook in Australië behoren ze inmiddels tot de top. Nadat enkele leden van de twee al bekende bands Kora en Katchafire in Whakatane (Bay Of Plenty) in 2016 de koppen bij elkaar staken, werden onder aanvoering van drummer Brad Kora laidback reggae grooves op catchy wijze gemixed met de nodige funk, soul, pop, electronic music, blues en rock invloeden, als een soort mengeling van UB40, NxWorries, John Mayer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Marvin Gaye en Bob Marley.

Begin volgend jaar verschijnt hun zesde album, en “Take It Away” is daar de eerste single van, maar dit jaar werd vooral uitgetrokken voor een eerste poging om de rest van de wereld te ‘veroveren’ met hun roots reggae inclusief de ‘kiwi chill factor’. Dit voorjaar trokken ze naar Amerika voor enkele club-shows en festivals en in oktober spelen ze voor het eerst in Europa: op 5 oktober heeft de al uitverkochte Amsterdamse Paradiso de premiere, en een weekje later staan ze in de O2 Forum te Londen. 

Ter introductie van de band (uiteraard niet nodig voor de echte reggae connoisseurs, mede gezien hun verleden met het befaamde VP/Greensleeves-label!) brengt het Loop label nu een exclusieve 10 tracks vinyl sampler op de Europese markt; ‘selected works spanning the first five albums from New Zealand’s hottest act, including “Take It Away” as bonus-track’.

L.A.B’s groove blends an eclectic, catchy and laidback-Whakatane Bay mix of reggae, pop, blues, rock, soul and funk with electronic influences, all combining to create a sound entirely their own. L.A.B, featuring former members of the bands Kora and Katchafire, have become a mainstay in the New Zealand music scene, with 5 albums in the last 5 years, all with at least a one-time Platinum status, dominating as well the national single and album charts, radio playlists, award shows and sales stats on dsp-platforms. L.A.B also made their name on the live stages of Australasia (and recently the USA too), and were publicly-voted for two years in a row as New Zealand’s Best Live Act.

 It's about time these 5 musicians showed up in Europe. On the 5th of October their European premiere will be at the (already sold out!) Amsterdam Paradiso, and one week later they’ll perform at the O2 Forum in London. Early spring next year they will release their new album, “VI”, supported by more European shows. On the 22nd of September we release our first single from that album; “Casanova” (yes, that one from LeVert!), but first L.A.B presents “Introducing”, with 10 of their finest tracks, available on vinyl only exclusively by Integral Europe; ‘selected works spanning the first five albums from New Zealand’s hottest act, including “Take It Away” as bonus-track’.
