NICKEL CREEK BRENGT NIEUW ALBUM CELEBRANTS UIT Label: Thirty Tigers Mattan Records Het trio Nickel Creek heeft hun langverwachte album Celebrants uitgebracht. De Americana, folk en bluegrassband bestaat uit Chris Thile (mandoline), Sara Watkins (viool) en Sean Watkins (gitaar). Celebrants is het eerste nieuwe album van Nickel Creek in negen jaar.

Over Celebrants zegt Sean Watkins:

“We wanted it to be our most ambitious album, meaning spending the time that we've never had to fully explore our musical ideas and take them as far as we possibly can.”

Op de langspeelplaat combineert het trio poëtische en rech-voor-zijn-raap songteksten met thema's als liefde, vriendschap en tijd. De producer Eric Valentine (Queens of the Stone Age, Grace Potter, Weezer) heeft het album geproduceerd in de welbekende RCA Studio A in Nashville, Tennessee.
Nickel Creek maakte in de begin jaren '00 wereldwijd furore met albums Nickel Creek en This Side, dat zelfs het 'Best Contemporary Folk Album' bij de Grammy Awards won. Celebrants wordt het vijfde studioalbum van het trio.
