The title song went to number 1. “In The Groove Zone” is a cool New Orleans type soul/funk/blues tune that really does have a great groove. “In The Groove Zone” was one of the most popular songs from The Groove Krewe CD prior to promoting it as a single. In the January 2023 Living Blues Magazine, reviewer Robert H, Cataliotta says “Daniels excels in the stripped-down funk of In The Groove Zone.” In the June 2022 publication of Jazz Weekly, George W. Harris said “The team is burning like James Brown’s Famous Flames on In The Groove Zone.”
Nick Daniels III was born in New Orleans. He has a soulful voice and an undeniably funky bass playing style. Nick has played bass for The Neville Brothers, Uptown All-Stars, Zachary Richard, The Wild Magnolia Indians, Allen Toussaint, and Etta James. In 2006, Nick joined the currently popular band, Dumpstaphunk. Dumpstaphunk was founded by Ivan Neville and has played national and New Orleans venues. They have opened for The Dave Matthews Band and The Rolling Stones. Nick has earned his place in the book of New Orleans Musical Who’s Who.
