Australian bluesman Ivor S.K., now based in New Orleans, releases new single ‘Sweet ‘n’ Low’ on Friday, July 8. ‘Sweet ‘n’ Low’ is the lead single off of the upcoming album from Ivor S.K., Mississippi Bound. A slice of bouncing rhythm and blues, Ivor says of the song:
“Sweet ‘n’ Low is a tune that’s been kicking around for four or five years. I had to chase some of the chords and the feel of the tune for a while, and let it slowly pick up steam in the subconscious. It started life as a borderline Texas shuffle when I first got it down, band and all. Then as I began to pull at the layers and strip it back, it showed its true colours and started to cook with more of a southern soul/r&b flavour. Once the handclaps and tambourine usurped the kit the groove really started to float, and it all came together as a celebration of good times in the Big Easy.”
