While we are getting ready for some of the most important 2021 releases for CRS, here's a reminder for Robert Jon & The Wreck's first single and for their European fall tour. But there is also a new single from Big Daddy Wilson's album "Hard Time Blues" (Sept. 10 release) and a 4 track EP from the ultimate live collection by Dutch blues legends Cuby + Blizzards.
We will also be updating you soon on a lovely release by Canadian Americana collective The Hello Darlins and down right soul from Wee Willie Walker! So stay tuned.
Although Cuby and the early Blizzards (with Herman Brood and Eelco Gelling) reached mythical status in the Netherlands with their albums "Groeten uit Grolloo" and "Desolation" and their hitsingles "Appleknockers Flophouse" or "Window of My Eyes", the band that backed Harry Muskee in the last 10 years of his impressive career can easily be considered the best band any blues singer could ask for. Ed Roose recorded (almost) every show from 2001 to 2011 and hand picked and reworked 23 tracks by Cuby, Herman Deinum, Hans Lafaille and Erwin Java to come up with a unique audio document that honors the man that lead the Dutch blues scene for so many years. "Grolloo Blues" will be released as double CD (23 tracks) and double LP (19 tracks) on September 26, marking the 10th anniversary of Harry "Cuby" Muskee's passing.
Leading up to that release here's a 4 track EP that will be available on most streaming platforms from July 30. Of course it contains Cuby's signature song "Window Of My Eyes", that was also featured in the George Clooney movie "the American" in a captivating live version.
