TAKES GERMANY BY STORM AND MAKES UK DEBUT WITH ROCK ICONS WISHBONE ASH
After blowing audiences away with his powerful one-man-band performance as the opening act for legendary British rockers, Wishbone Ash on their 27 date European tour in January/February, Steve Hill is
in midst of following up the success with his first ever headline tour
in Europe,
September 13 – October 2, 2017. The Dangerous Tour 2017 has Hill performing extensively throughout Germany and Switzerland to rave reviews, sold out shows and standing ovations, performing 18 shows in support of his new album Solo Recordings – Volume 3, that was released in Europe on March 3, 2017.
“Getting to open for a classic band like Wishbone Ash this winter
was an awesome way to introduce my music to a guitar-loving blues/rock
audience in countries I’d never played before,” says Hill. “Performing
night after night to packed houses really gets you in the grove and
helps bring your show to another level. “We even had the chance to do
some shows in Poland and seeing how crazy those audiences were was
amazing.”
Last fall, Hill released the live video for “Dangerous”, the first
single from his new album and to his surprise it went viral on Facebook
with over 1 Million views, spreading his music around the globe at
lightning speed. This was the start of new fans outside of Canada
discovering his unique performing style in taking the one-man-band to a
place people had never seen before.
Now he’s being featured in prestigious magazines in Germany such as
Classic Rock, Rocks, Piranha and Guitar, who called him “The most
spectacular one-man-band on the planet!” He’s also just landed a coveted
slot in October to perform on ZDF Bauhaus, one of the biggest national
TV shows in Germany, that will introduce him to a wider audience and new
fans throughout the country.
Hill has just released his first ever single in Germany, “Emily”,
that’s been being featured and added to radio playlists across the
country.
A brand new video for “Emily”
Steve’s European tour supporting Wishbone Ash earlier this year
received such a great response that leader, Andy Powell, invited Hill to
join them on their mammoth 27-date UK tour, October 18 – November 18,
2017. “After hugely enjoying Steve Hill's solo performances on our
recent German Tour, I'm totally convinced that the Wishbone Ash fan
community, and especially fans of great guitar playing, will embrace
Steve's special brand of blues delivered like no one else out there at
the moment. A true innovator and a true gentleman. Expect musical sparks
to fly!” says Powell. The tour sees him hitting all four corners of the
UK and all points in between, including an important stop at London’s
02 Academy Islington. The first UK single “Dangerous” has already been
added to the Planet Rock radio playlist and is featured on the
covermount CD of the September issue of Classic Rock magazine in
Britain. Hill is getting 5-star reviews for Solo Recordings – Volume 3 in England and has created quite a stir with blues and rock fans mesmerized by his impressive one-man-band performance style.
Hill also recently won the Montreal Blues Society's International
Blues Challenge competition and will represent the Montreal Blues
Society at the IBC in Memphis in January 16 – 20, 2018.
