A psychedelic tined blues track with poetic lyrics, and expressive vocal and great band interplay, it is the first single from the forthcoming House of Colours album.
As guitarist Rob Koral explains: “"Venus Ain’t So Far Away" began unusually for us — with just the title.
We asked poetic lyricist Pete Feenstra to craft lyrics, then we added a few simple chords that felt naive at first.But once the words and music connected, the song quickly took shape.
With a few tweaks, it became something we’re truly proud of. It ended up with a strong ’60s psychedelic feel — unplanned but fitting.
Sometimes the best songs come together in the most unexpected ways.”
The track features Zoe Schwarz on vocals, Rob Koral on guitar, Pete Whittaker on Hammond, Eddie John on drums and guest bassist Paddy Blight. It was mixed and mastered by Paul Stacey.
Note: Colourful House’ will be the seventh ‘band’ studio album by established vocal dynamo Zoe Schwarz and renowned guitarist Rob Koral.
