Grammy-winning, Emmy-nominated multi-hyphenate Grey DeLisle has announced her latest project, It’s All Her Fault: A Tribute To Cindy Walker by Grey DeLisle & Friends, set for release on October 10 via Hummin’Bird Records. Album track “I Don’t Care,” reimagined by Kelly Willis, is out today. "I Don't Care" is a 1955 song written by Webb Pierce and Cindy Walker and originally performed by Pierce. The song spent a total of 32 weeks on the charts, with 12 of those weeks spent at number one on the Country & Western Best Seller charts.

DeLisle, who is the executive producer of the album and appears on one of its tracks, cites Walker as her greatest musical influence. When she found out that Walker’s childhood home in Mexia, Texas, had fallen into disrepair, DeLisle gathered friends to record a few of Walker’s hits to raise awareness and funds to support the home’s restoration. All of the streaming proceeds from the album will benefit the Cindy Walker Foundation.

An estimated 500 of Walker’s songs have been recorded, and her songs made the top-40 country or pop charts more than 400 times by legends like Bob Wills, Roy Orbison, Eddy Arnold, and Willie Nelson, who devoted an entire album (You Don’t Know Me: The Songs of Cindy Walker) to her work. One of the most important and prolific women in country music history, and a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, she brought a rare mix of craft and emotional depth to her songwriting, helping define the golden era of country music from the 1940s onward.

DeLisle honors that legacy with an all-star lineup of women in country and roots music performing some of Walker’s songs: Katie Shore, Summer Dean, Amythyst Kiah, Rosie Flores, Kelly Willis, Brennen Leigh, Melissa Carper, Mandy Barnett, Gail Davies, Jolie Holland, Ginny Mac, and more, each lending their voice to Walker’s timeless catalog. The project is both a love letter to a legendary songwriter and a rallying cry for preservation.

DeLisle turns out songs the way Stephen King turns out novels, the way Krispy Kreme delivers donuts: sweet, satisfying, and seemingly endless. “Prolific” hardly begins to describe the award-winning singer-songwriter, whose creative output rivals her long career as one of Hollywood’s most celebrated voice actors (The Simpsons, Scooby-Doo, SpongeBob SquarePants, King Of The Hill) and her life as a mother of three.

After years focused on voice acting, DeLisle’s songwriting fire was reignited during the solitude of 2020. Working alongside her longtime collaborator Murry Hammond of Old 97’s, she penned the songs for her 2025 double LP, The Grey Album. With It’s All Her Fault, Grey DeLisle proves once again that her artistry knows no bounds - bridging eras, uniting voices, and keeping the legacy of Cindy Walker alive for generations to come.

The project is both a love letter to a legendary songwriter and a rallying cry for preservation. All streaming proceeds will benefit The Cindy Walker Foundation’s effort to restore Walker’s childhood home, located in Mexia, Texas.
