Sunshine is Bywater Call’s first live album. It features a mix of newly released music, including the cover of the Stephen Stills classic “Love The One You’re With” and the funky new original title-track “Sunshine” (previously released as a single in May 2025), plus fan favourites “As If,” “Sign of Peace,” and “Everybody Knows” from 2024's Shepherd album, and “Bring Me Down” taken from their 2019 eponymous debut album.
The highly anticipated live album is an epic, energetic revelation for the uninitiated, and a perfect snapshot as to why Bywater Call win new fans across the globe.
“It’s hard to explain what we do live to those who haven’t been there” says lead singer Meghan Parnell. “There is an energy within the band and between us and the audience that kind of carries you away.”

There are moments in the show that will be completely different every night, even if the set list is the same. I think we’ve really managed to capture the essence of this on ‘Sunshine.’”
Songs feature extended jams, fiery solos, and haunting introductions from shows in Toronto, Canada, Woodstock, New York, USA and Newbury, UK.
The live performances feature the extraordinary talents of Dave Barnes (guitar, slide), Mike Meusel (bass), Bruce McCarthy (drums), John Kervin (keyboards), Julian Nalli (sax), and Stephen Dyte (trumpet).

The band has opened for Canadian award-winning musicians Whitehorse and Tom Cochrane, and singer Meghan has joined renowned pedal-steel guitarist Robert Randolph on stage at his request.
Their newest album Shepherd has garnered rave reviews from fans and media alike and was selected as the Blues Album of the Year by UK’s Classic Rock Magazine. Band leaders Meghan Parnell and Dave Barnes were featured on the cover of Blues in Britain in January of 2025.
In 2024 alone, the band played 140 shows across 10 countries. Bywater Call’s music is an exploration of life’s highs and lows. From intimate ballads that lay bare the complexities of human emotion to electrifying anthems that demand to be played at full volume, their catalogue is a journey through human experience, featuring influences from the likes of The Band, The Wood Brothers, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Otis Redding, Little Feat, Sly and the Family Stone, and many more.
