Bill Blue, veteran of the Arthur (Big Boy) Crudup band and beloved resident of Key West for more than 35 years, died in 2022 after a battle with cancer. Now his friend and producer Ian Shaw is releasing some of Blue’s unreleased music, beginning with the single “I Got The Gris Gris.” This track, which never made it onto Blue’s final two albums, the highly-acclaimed Mojolation and King of Crazy Town, is a swaggering, fun song featuring Blue’s whiskey voice and deep roots guitar stylings. The single will join two covers of Eddie Hinton songs and two live versions of previously released songs on an album titled The Other Side of Paradise

Bill Blue - " I Got The Gris Gris"
Bill Blue An original back porch blues musician, Bill learned his chops on the road playing guitar with Arthur ‘Big Boy’ Crudup, including opening for Bonnie Raitt on her first national tour. After Arthur died in 1974, Bill went out on his own, signed with Adelphi, and for a decade toured the world extensively. He tired of the road in the ‘80s, but after a 25 year recording hiatus, he began recording original music with British record producer Ian Shaw. Now Ian Shaw brings back the beloved blues man’s artistry for one last encore.
