The Diego Mongue Band is the latest group created by multi instrumentalist composer Diego Mongue. The band is based out of Berkshire County, MA and recently captivated the audience and judges in the Capitol Region Blues Network's regional International Blues Challenge (IBC) competition, which resulted in a bid to the IBC's in Memphis, TN this coming January 2024. The Diego Mongue Band is lead by Diego Mongue. This passionate lover of anything Frank Zappa garnered his first drum kit at the age of 5, and it’s been a steady musical assent ever since. He is presently the youngest member of the 2019 International Blues Challenge finalist Misty Blues. Diego was the founder of the youth blues band, Born IV Blues, who performed in the International Blues Challenge Youth Showcase in 2018 and 2019. He is also the founder of the jazz fusion group GrossMongue. In the summer of 2021, Diego was the featured percussionist for the Berkshire Theater Group production of Nina Simone: Four Women, and returned in 2022 for the production of Songs For A New World. Diego has performed on stages from Memphis, TN to London, England. He has performed with groups that have opened for Lucinda Williams, Roomful of Blues, Tab Beniot, and Albert Cummings. He has performed with Fountains of Wayne co-founder Chris Collingwood and recorded with Joe Louis Walker, Big Llou Johnson, Eric Gales, Kat Riggins, Matt Cusson and Justin Johnson. He is a multi instrumentalist and composer with songs that have hit the top of the Roots Music Report Charts in contemporary blues, blues rock, and jazz fusion. Diego is a 3rd year music major at Williams College in Williamstown, MA.
