Alyssa' was inspired by Alyssa Mushin, who had Canavan Disease and passed away in November 2017 at
the age of 23. She never spoke a word but her smiles and her love for music enriched the lives of her
family and anyone that encountered her. After hearing of her passing, Kelly Z and Perry Robertson wrote
'Alyssa' as a reminder that life is short and there is always a way to get through the hard times. As a special touch, Andrew and Jenna Mushin, Alyssa's siblings, flew to California to sing background vocals on the track.
